Math
Description
Math, what does math look like to me? From a 10th graders perspective, it's a struggle, a challenge, time consumer, pointless or useless, tiring, but being in 10th and seeing it from my perspective, it's knowledge, my grade, our future, college, job, as well as a challenge. Math is where you grow as a thinker and as a partner, think differently, ask questions, go into detail, it's something where you're never going to be right at all the time. Math is a team working experience and a mind set experience. All these abilities you use to solve a math problem, will come in when solving different problem with different ideas. Who will make the next great invention like the iPhone or computers? Who will solve the problems for pollution or diseases? We will need the mindset that we ca and will solve our problems or create bigger and better things. When different minds collide and work, many good solutions will come out, there will be some negativity, but we will need to respectful at the same time. It may not be numbers that we will solve in the future, but it will always still be a problem and struggle in the mist of it.
Artifact
For our evidence we made Math Portfolios for each unit of what we've learned. We would have to write our struggles, evidence, process of solving the problem. We had our first unit which was Quadratics which is finding second and no higher power of an unknown quantity or variable. Here is the Quadratics Portfolio. docs.google.com/a/hightechhigh.org/document/d/1V42zH4IWw3Ja3FHIkuCJbaXHHakdFDoKu1RKdLpudRU/edit?usp=sharinghe ).
Probability
Our second unit was Probability, which was the learning the chances or probability of an outcome. Here is my Probability Portfolio (https://docs.google.com/a/hightechhigh.org/document/d/1pWKIPUBuuIM2TY4i8Sp_NxGGYVCq3Bd4c9v0XkEKzyw/edit?usp=sharing).
Similarity
Our third final unit was Similarity, we had to look at angles and shapes to prove if they were similar and work with theorems. docs.google.com/a/hightechhigh.org/document/d/1vx8zRDh9yTJb4L-GTTVcSqRxMu3SUESkLlP2TzKy7Jo/edit?usp=sharing

Reflection
I really enjoyed the units we learned, but the one I found most interesting was the Probability Unit. I was very interested on how the numbers work, chances we take in life without noticing, games we play. My strengths in class would I have to be that I was very persistent, I didn't quit, I didn't just ask for the answer, I wanted to earn my answers, asking for help isn't giving up, it's a boost getting there. I feel like I reached my personal goal of working alone, I pushed myself no one else to complete my work, I asked questions, clarified problems, looked through different views, even took on challenges. The only way I would be able to improve to in math is just taking more challenges, anything extra to push myself. Taking challenges will need help, but that's how I work, once I get the ball rolling, it's pretty hard for me to stop.
