This week we had to script and outline our interview with our Humans of South Bay (HoSB). My interviewee was my uncle and I'll tell you how it went. I had to prepare for what could come, what I could ask, when I could ask, how he would respond. So it begun with me asking him saying that I am interviewing and I'll be asking about his life. The thing that surprised me is that he moved a lot when he was a kid, he went to so many places. I want to travel as much as he did. What I learned was to look as relaxed as he is, but at the same be interesting and be "in" the interview. I wish I spoke to my mom or my aunt to see how they grew so I had a sense of how he grew up.
The next time I turn research into a piece of writing, I will remember to speak to his relatives and see what they can teel me. Getting the information from them is like getting it from him, but someone close to him. So I would know how to go along his answers and stories.
